4 weeks in and reflecting already? That means there is an assignment due this week. Anyway the class I am taking has been an interesting one to say the least. Looking at game archaeology, game mechanics and game psychology I feel like my spare time and class time have merged. Its interesting to me that the stuff we are looking at used to be stuff I’d read and research for fun. (yes I’m a nerd I get it)
While it is interesting and fun to do this, we also are doing something else fun in this class, we have been told to design a game. Any game we want, whether it be a board game, video game or whatever. We were just told to make a game. This is exactly what we are doing, my group has been developing a QR code finder game designed in the University of Wollongong.
The group has been working long and hard and this week we started creating our prototype game, well we attempted to make a QR code that linked to a picture of a sign outside our room, but it is a start. Rome wasn’t built in a day and this game is going to be a lot of work to pull off. Our biggest focus next class is figuring out locations and clues to hint to those locations. Our idea is to map out everything and begin working on the QR codes for the prototype within the next week.
This game actually seems like it could be fun and exciting and it is going to be interesting to see where it ends up.
